Jan Hoogervorst’s lighting fixtures are distinguished by their clean lines. He has designed numerous lamps, wall sconces and pendants, as well as beautiful floor lamps. Throughout his design career, Hoogervorst has worked for Anvia. Biography Jan J.M. Hoogervorst was born in the Netherlands in 1918. He studied architecture, but distinguished himself above all as a painter and illustrator. After the Occupation, the young man developed a passion for design, painting reproductions of furniture he had seen in catalogs. In the early 1950s, he began a long collaboration with Anvia, a Dutch furniture and lighting publisher. Hoogervorst loved to travel and explore many countries in order to develop his creativity. Although little known in France and abroad, the designer contributed to the evolution of Dutch lighting design.
